Coast Booking Flop

UNIT owners and holiday makers are the big losers in the liquidation of accommodation booking company Tailly Pty Ltd.
About 280 creditors, all unsecured, are owed more than $700,000.
They have been invited to meet liquidators on Monday following the company's collapse almost two weeks ago.
The company, which ran a series of accommodation websites, letting out rooms in Surfers Paradise, filed for voluntary liquidation the same week it lost a major Federal Court case against holiday-booking giant Mantra Group.
The court found that Tailly and its shareholder Stephen Andrew Grant had used Mantra Group's Circle on Cavill trademarks to lure guests to booking with their websites.
The Surfers Paradise operator was ordered to pay Mantra Group profits it made through the websites.
Justice Reeves ordered Tailly and Mr Grant to transfer to Mantra the registration of several Circle on Cavill domain names and other domain names 'deceptively similar' to the Circle on Cavill trademarks.
He also granted a permanent injunction restraining Tailly and Mr Grant from using the Circle on Cavill and Mantra trademarks, as well as terms 'substantially or deceptively similar to those terms'.
SV Partners's Paul Sweeney and Terry Rose, the appointed liquidators, said investigations into the collapse are continuing.
